Chassis Starting to mod my 16 49 4

Getting ready to do some more touring with our van. Going to do some modifications to make life easier. Already moved the hitch.
Starting making the frame to relocate the spare tyre to under the rear behind the rear tank. I have used my old winder from under the Cruiser. Will get some pics up soon as I go.

I think your handbrake might need a bit of adjustment.

chartrock. That's where the dealer told me to adjust it to 'o'. I have since adjusted it up.

It allows more clearance under the hand brake. The brake lever hangs down below the chassis, when trying to reverse out of a creek, driveway etc, if it hits the ground, it puts the brakes on making it really hard to reverse. It also allows the removal of the plate hanging down and more clearance on the tow vehicles goose neck.

Got the mount all done, ready to bolt in. Just got to get some bolts and drill through the chassis and make the winder tool.

Hi Daniel,

Looks excellent. I am trying to work out what I am going to do with our spare as I want to put a tool box onto the front a-frame as well. I think i will be getting someone to fabricate up the same style of bracket you have made for us to hang our tyre off.
Your not in Brisbane by any chance are you??? hint hint.

The front box we will look at getting built will have doors on the end so that they can be accessed while the bed end is down. Want a drawer for the drivers side so that the Honda genie can sit on and the other to be just a side for storage. Middle to house gas bottle and other bits and pieces.

Got a tool box for my draw bar today.Good quality and on sale $300. 1200 x 500 x 500. Now to fit it. Not sure on whether to fit the gas bottles in the box or try and fit them in front? Any one else tried this?
