been pottering away on a few jobs

I want to add a pole carrier on the front (behind the box) so first job - move the tap

easier said than done
had to get some extra hose - what a nightmare - Green shed has "clear" hose, but I did not need 20m of it
ended up finding 1/2 black tube from Hoseco
while there, I also found joiners (no-one could tell me who would sell the "John Guest" type of fittings) - SMC Pneumatic fittings...........

so now we play the game of
"where the fork did that go now......................???????"

looking for hose cutter
pop rivet gun
cordless drill
nuts and bolts
New SMC fittings
tap once removed off chassis

all found eventually, all good, kept me out of mischief for at least 4 hours

pics to prove
where it used to sit

where it is now.......

Sounds like me but then I have to get electric drill out as batteries are flat

thats the thing, I was using it the other day to fit the awning cover............
where the fork did it go.........

searched the comp room - everything ends up in there eventually
searched the junk room - same same as comp room
searched the back patio......
searched the shelves I use for storing stuff....... maybe I put it away............?
searched the Van, where the cordless lives...... nup not there
turn around

and there is is on the bench (inside the van) on the charger.........

DOH

now what did I not think of that in the first place...........?

well, been pottering around again..................

I picked up a piece of 160mm storm water pipe awhile ago, as the basis of my pole carrier
however - the guy who I scavenged it off, cut it at 2m, instead of 2.4m.........
so it has sat for awhile while I think about if its still usable - (6months I think it has been)

lat week, when passing Tradelink, I stopped in and lost $40 for a 160mm end cap, 160mm spacer & screw on cap
oh well..........

so I have been looking
and wracking my brains as to how to use this shorter (than I would like) piece of pipe

after much too-ing and fro-ing, I tried to fit it between the front box and the front of the Van

its that tight, if I was to put silicon on the tube, it would stay there indefinitely
that tight in fact - you cannot turn the screw cap

ok, so thinking for the last couple of day, and having the pipe sit where I want it

it needs to be off centered - so the lid can be un screwed
and
it needs to be secured properly

after a few phone calls to various places - yes they have pole carrier holders at Camec ($26.50 ea)
I stopped at Reece's to see what they had
well,
they have a 2 piece clamp for the 160mm pipe
hhhmmmmmmm
maybe just the ticket to clamp it to the draw bar
at that price - $40 for 2, I'm not going to argue

so I trundle home with my ill gotten gain

B U G G A

he clamp is way to big to fit into the area the tube is in

what to do

what to do

Did the same ages ago....didn't have the clamps to fit.

Ended up tying it on the draw bar with a piece of cord and it worked well!

Not pretty, not the best possible, but it stayed there ok....and I could wiggle the ends open to get at the innards.

I sympathise!

:p

while sitting here in the Comp room - I was looking out the window, and saw a piece of aluminum strip leaning against the shed......

mmmmmmmmmm

its powder coated white
its Ali - so flexable

I wonder...............

can I make my own bracket

so I went outside, had a better look at this strip of Ali
I can use the pieces of rubber stripping that came with those brackets from Reece's

nope - no I cannot - the rubber strips are 5mm too thin to fit over the edges of the Ali

B U G G A

hang on, I have a piece of sticky backed rubber - 1.2mm
now where in the fork has THAT gone........

hey, found it first look - must be on to something here
cut a strip, stuck it to the Ali - looks good

man handled it in to position

B I N G O

worked a tread, all screwed in and not going anywhere now

piccies for Evidence.............
while it was just sitting there while I contemplated
