@Crusty181 Been happening for years back in the dream time (70's) I had a G60 Patrol and they were in envy as well.

I'm one of the lucky ones (!!) with a Jeep GC rated to 3.5t Even though my Expanda is only a bit over 2.t on the road, I still use the old basic 4 shepherd hooks on that I used to need to use with a Swan and a Mazda Tribute a number of years ago. They were rated to 120kg- and I would exceed that ball weight now. I actually believe that it rides better with them fitted, they provide better stability, and it only takes 2 minutes to fit them anyway.

the Might Patrol does not need it.........???

maybe the Nissans are better engineered than the toyboatas????????

I would like to add...........

on cars with a separate Chassis it is easier and cheaper to upgrade the rear suspension.
new HD Springs & Shockies & Airbags for my Patrol - around the $900 - 1500 depending on what brand.....
my father was quoted $2500 to do this to his Pajero - just the rear

so it was more sense to put the WDH on........

$2500 just for the rear on the Pajero :eek-53:, Mine was just under that for the whole lot including the Airbags

[USER=2415]@bigcol I was quoted $350 for labour to fit 4 x coils to my Jeep, I was doing it myself just wanted to see what they would charge, new springs were $480 shocks $390 I think, never asked about fitting the shocks, bloody exxy I thought. No chassis on Jeep, monoque body, so when things break the whole vehicle comes away......[/USER]

it seemed that there was more involved than what I had suggested to him (my Father)
I said "get a quote for new springs, shocks and airbags for the rear......"
he went to a 4wd shop (not one I would have recommended - but you can never tell him) - needed new everything apparently
new bushes on all suspension parts - new trailing arms - new sway bars & dis-connects etc as well as Shocks, Springs and Airbags

I told him, they are ripping you off, I hope you didnt say yes........how could a Brand New 4 month old car need new parts like that
- he just shook his head and said, "meh - not going to happen anyway"

and it never did
