Plenty of time..... Only took about an hour to do both ends.
Took longer to fit the 2 small towel rails. "Mental Note" If anyone else does this mod mount them about 50 - 75mm lower than I did..... Not a lot of room to get hands inbetween the timber and the sink :censored:

Cheers Dave, trip to Bunnings it is...just love that place, !! will have to be quick sharp as leavn for exmouth week Friday

Looking into local box manufactures this week David.
I'll let you know what I find. May have to be custom as I haven't found anything 'off the shelf' as yet.

$300 postage to Perth a bit rich....

I have been told - but not gone and looked -
on Guildford road in Bayswater - heading south - towards the City- before the lights before the Gull servo(Katanning St) just before Tonkin crosses over, there is a shop that sells LED lights etc - as well as ally boxes

Wasn't going to do any mods until after the shakedown trip next weekend but got a bit bored today so made a start with some ideas "borrowed" from others on here ;)

Aluminium angle and tie down straps behind rear bed hard lid..

View attachment 21038

Table, steps and floor mats stored... No more need to transport inside the van :)

Table and stools stored... No more need to transport inside the van :)

Made sure at least one of the screws went through aluminium for that extra bit of strength!

View attachment 21042

Tea towel racks fitted..... Used a couple of left over drawer handles that I had sitting in the shed.

View attachment 21043

Wardrobe shelves fitted.... Don't need the hanging space for shorts, t-shirts and singlets ;)

Getting the Australiawide Annex fitted this week (Got it ordered just in time before the Caravan & Camping Show)

No doubt there will be more mods thought of once we get away and use the van.

Have a few future mods planned but will be done over a period of a couple/few months due to work and planned landscaping and paving of the front yard.
1) Ali box on drawer bar for weber Q, gas bottles and anything else we can fit in it.
2) Relocate the spare to the rear bumper.
3) Space allowing.... Wire mesh on existing spare wheel holder (Under the planned ali box if enough room) to strap hoses etc.
4) Use the van in between work, landscaping, mods and brick paving :thumb:

Hopefully the weekend after the shakedown trip is raining :rain:.... Good excuse to put a hold on brick paving and get the new suspension fitted on the Prado!

Mods look fantastic well done !!! Pick ours up this wk can't wait to get in there and start making a list of things to do

The Shakedown Trip has commenced. Nice day for a short drive away from the Rat Race! Arrived at Willowbrook Farm around about 1:30ish and had the van setup by 2:00. Not a lot of people on site apart from a group of Vietnam Vets getting ready to party :)

Took a drive into Gingin to stock up on a few supplies and on our return the park is nearly full and still people coming in at 7:30pm.

Thought it was going to be a quiet weekend !!!!

Pics of the first trip setup to follow :)

Hi Dagree, I like the storage under bed mod you've done here, just a quick Q's is the Ali angle iron you used already come in white or did you paint it?

Hi @Lethalspanda ... The ali angle is standard ali colour. The white you see is the stick on white foam that I put along the angle to keep the tables just far enough away from the expanda's door so it doesn't rub.

Was a bit worried at first but after doing the first hole and realising that there is about 40 - 50mm between the front and back panels of the bed doors I felt a bit more confident drilling the rest. I used 6 gauge X 9mm stainless screws so plenty of room. OH and I used a bit of white marine grade sikaflex to make sure I got a good water seal around the screws and assist with holding the angle sections to the bed ends.

I was more nervous drilling the 95mm hole in the gaurd of my previous 100 series when fitting the snorkel :o and will be doing the same to the Prado soon :stupid:
