Luckily we live in stable democracies in both Aus and NZ.People would have reason to moan if governed by a dickhead like Trump.Being an ex Kiwi ,came over in 71,and go back to NZ for three months most summers. The opposition leader in NZ is an absolute disaster.Adern has had to cope with the mosque shootings,White Island disaster, now the corona virus. She has shown to be a decisive leader in times of disasters, which is more than can be said for Morrison with his initial comments re bushfires and the coronavirus.! If the punters dont like their leaders they will be voted out. Before somebody rips into me I am a middle of the road voter ! However the vitriolic comments that now seem to take place between many hard left an right is a worry.Too many experts,to much fake news is leading to very divided society.

That seems to be the way at the moment @BJM .

Democracy ???? Here ???? today ???? We are currently flying under Emergency declaration S194, under the provisions of the Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 That declaration is read along with the virtually identically worded Restricted Activities Direction (no2) and Stay At Home Direction (no4). All of that is actual laws that we are relying on, and describes what we know as the Lock Down Restrictions. Wording in legal instruments is generally very carefully considered and is vitally important. Laws are regularly pulled apart mercilessly on the basis of the meaning of single words, and we have an entire government and monstrous legal system that relies just on those words. The entire basis of our theoretical democracy revolves around the law, the existence of law, and nothing more than the law. Ill stand corrected but Im pretty confident that most laws we have are written down in words, and not too many that only exist in weasel words yelled out in a press conference one day. The wording of the laws effecting us in this crisis actually contains very little of the publicly portrayed very broad reaching and target specific restrictions that we are repeatedly having forced down our Victorian throats. In law, artistic license, making crap up on the fly and the old "do what I say not what I mean" are irrelevant, out of place and are unenforcible. In essence and in simple terms if the specific words don't exist, the behaviour isn't restricted; and rightfully so because in this example we are talking about the single most important, precious and sacrosanct right any person on earth can have, freedom. The cause of many wars, at the cost of many millions of lives. There are many words down here, describing restrictive behaviour, being thrown around that aren't actually exist in any written instrument. For example if it the law says "food", which it does, no-one can just thrown up adjectives that don't exist like "groceries" and "supermarkets" etc. If it says "exercise", which it does, no-one can just chuck in a few additional criteria they like the sound of like "walking" "not golfing" "around your neighbourhood" "for only 45min". If it says I can shop any retail outlet (Part3, S6 (1)(c)(viii) , on-one can leave that out entirely just because they personally dont like the idea of it. Thankfully, it not supposed to work like that .... although at present??? Dan Andrews has taken the unprecedented step of suspending parliament indefinitely, so in very real terms in a nano second and without warning 57% of the Victorian population instantly retained absolutely zero representation or voice at all. Non Govt MPs attempting to contact Ministers have been summarily ignored. Parliament hasn't sat for 4 weeks now, and Parliament is where accountability of the Govt, oversight and scrutiny takes place; in fact Parliament is precisely where this so called democracy is actually supposed to be. A crisis is no excuse to summarily trounce peoples rights nor is it an excuse for poor and unlawful governance. The effect or greater good of the unlawful directions are irrelevant, and it should never be a case of "its all for a good cause", because next time the cause may not be so noble, but your ability to stop it will be just as non existent. Hands up anyone who knows of any other point in history where a Parliament was hijacked, and stormtroopers used to strong-arm the masses on the basis of lawless ideology ... nah, probably never happened. Not having a personal dig at you @BJM, but if you can find even a sniff of "democracy" around here, please point it out to me.

I bored out of my skull, I'll end up washing the paint off the car, and I need to find solace in stupid and mindless Youtube videos

So, what is not vitriolic about your comments about Trump and Morrison?

@Crusty181 , stop pacing up and down your pad and roaring like a caged lion. It won't do you any good. Freedom will come eventually. Live long enough to see it.
The following quotes say it all:

THE SPREAD OF CORVID - 19 IS BASED ON TWO FACTORS......

1. HOW DENSE THE POPULATION IS.
............and.....
2. HOW DENSE THE POPULATION IS.

Another classic and true quote says it all.
" THE VIRUS DOESN'T MOVE, PEOPLE MOVE IT. WE STOP MOVING, THE VIRUS STOPS MOVING, THE VIRUS DIES"!

So sit back and make the most of what you have got. It is better for your blood pressure, not to mention your health and even your life or someone close to you.
Stay safe.

Goodness me, city living is stressful, I wont mention what we will be doing over the next few days here in backward QUEENSLAND. Actually looking at all the figures being sprouted if we just fenced off the cities us backward, two headed country bumpkins would be oblivious....says a lot about the actions of some. The Gloss of some states is not so shiny.

I think your missing the point. Its not about the virus at all, and its certainly not about what youve mentioned. Im not advocating cuddling up to anybody, it entirely about the way the administration here in Vic is behaving, and way over-reaching their authority, and strong-arming non compliance of unlawful directions. Have no interest or knowledge how any of this plays out in QLD, this purely a Vic issue. Your reply is sadly quite typical, not a personal critisism just a fact. "Freedom will come eventually" kinda sums it up. This is an abuse of power, nothing about me spreading a virus.

Gee guys just waiting for conspiracy theories to pop up.These are unprecedented times ! At least most of us on this forum are still alive,if not let us know. Watch what has happened in New York State re virus deaths etc ,protesters outside the White House yesterday with automatic weapons wanting action. We are very lucky to live in Australia.Hells bells we are bloody lucky at our age to be still breathing unless you were on the Ruby Princess.
NB Late breaking news .all Jayco caravans are now to be made in China, free accessories now include ,crook masks, bottle of coronavirus to handle any complaints ,defibralator just in case you spot the made in China badge after purchase.!,

Wandered past the HQ of 4wd Super Centre on Wed enroute home from the factory, and picked up a fire pit (no contact collections) for $60.

It pretty damn good for both the price, and materials in comparison to other options. 3mm pot black mild steel. Simple, and pretty impressive

Probably test it out over the weekend

Thats the 3 piece fire pit youre talking about? Take it you got it at that price without the canvas carry bag?
Yes (4 piece, i had to think about that), just slides together (im sure in less the 10min after my first effort) The bag isnt included, its an additional $25 or so. I noticed yesterday the price for the fire pit had gone up to $70, but when i bought it Wed it i dont recall it being advertised as a crazy accountant price destruction special. Ill make a mesh bag for it, theyre easier to keep clean. Years ago had a canvas bag for the camp oven, always filthy with soot.
