5050 for us to and just taped on better quality double sided tape straight on the back of old tape then just ran a smear of white silicon along both edges to make sure water cant get behind. Has survived many a rain storm while being towed. Also wired in a flea-bay dimmer with remote and works well when kids are asleep and able to dim.Wife calls it mood lighting. Barney. p.s. not my idea, but give credit to another forum user who did the same
