We figure the baked on goodness adds to the flavour!! We have a Q100 (high lid) for the van and now a Q300 (high lid again) for home ... use them both ALL the time - different type of cooking to a normal BBQ ... You need to not lift the lid to 'check' on the cooking (and read the instruction manual!!!)

We got the campaquip full BBQ plate for our baby Q at the Sydney caravan show.

It fits in the BBQ when stored away with the original grill plate in situ, and gives us the flexibility to good aussie style with the lid up, including bacon and eggs, or we can swap to the weber grill plate and do all of the roasting stuff as well.

Its all in the weber duffle bag, with the gas hose etc and fits well in the front tunnel boot, although I'll move it to the front tool box once I fit one.

We were told by the Weber rep to NOT Line the base with alfoil. Something to do with it affecting the coating on the base making it delaminate at higher temperatures.

Just what we were told. In saying that, they are real bastards to clean if you cook a lot of roasts. Oven cleaner does work quite well. That and a high pressure water blaster.

BJ.
We have a Baby Q and have also purchased one of the oval shaped stainless plates from http://www.topnotchbbq.com.au/standard-hot-plate.php
Still experimenting with it.

We have a Q100 and love it. Use it with a Teflon sheet which keeps it very clean and just need to wash the sheet after use. Painless.

Do you cook eggs on the Teflon sheet ? If so how do they turn out ? We're wondering whether to get a plate for cooking eggs but your solution might be better.

hmmmm, shouldn't the teflon sheet be use on top of a flat plate away from naked (nude) flame ?
we have a sheet but only use it on the public bbqs at van parks for obvious reasons and at home on flat plate.
