Tell us a bit about yourself, CJ. Where are you based, what is your tug, is this your first van or have you upgraded like a lot of out members?

Sounds like a great buy, what trips do you have planned?

We don't have any big trips planned YET, but we certainly have a lot of small trips planned mostly weekenders coming up in the coming months at least 2 per month:dance:

We actually delayed the delivery of this van by one week, because we already had that weekend locked in some time ago to go camping prior to the this van coming along :doh: on one hand I hope we can sell our 2009 Jayco Dove before this trip so it's gone, :peace: but on the other I really don't want to go back to a tent now that we have two boys accompanying us :ballchain: since we last used the tent:boxing::fencing:

I'm based in the Newcastle/ Lake Macquarie area, currently the tug is a Petrol R51 Ti Pathfinder but hope to upgrade later this year or next, as I hinted on above this is an upgrade from our on road Dove that we brought new in 2009 & had a tent prior to that.
We actually struggled to upgrade away from getting a new OB Dove, we just simply loved the size, layout & the short rear overhang, we looked for a long time at alternatives & even contemplated a custom off rd van that would have been heavily based off the 14.44-4 to get the exact layout we wanted, but couldn't justify the extra expense and decided to make a compromise on a few things to stick with Jayco :flame:.

Then this one came up with a few more compromises (Independent suspension & extended draw bar) but with a huge saving on getting a 2013 model with the same specs was hard to knock back, in the end as much as I like the look of the 2013 models I also felt when I take this van down some narrow tracks i'm likely to scratch the new black checker plate sides, when the idea of the aluminium sides is supposed to hide the low down scratches & dents.

Thanks for the profile, CJ. We have quite a few members in the Newcastle area and a lot of members who have made the transition from tent to camper to Expanda so you are in good company.

It sounds like you got a bargain with the Expanda so good luck selling the Dove and enjoy your future trips, there are a lot of good spots close to Newcastle.

We'll it's getting all exciting now, we went & had an inspection of the Van this afternoon.
Then the plan is to go back in the morning to do the final paper work etc

I found a few minor things I want fixed or wasn't completed, but they should be all fixed up by the morning, then there is no mucking around waiting for the first trip, because we will spend a couple of nights away in it before we get back home

then bring on the mods
