Aluminium box

G'day Matt,

Great looking van.
Just wondering where you got the front box made as it is very similar to what i would like to have made.
I am situated not to far from you, in the Yarra Valley so was hoping the manufactures are not to far away.
We are due to get our first ever van 17.56-2OB in early Jan, so really looking forward to it.
Any help would be appreciated, Cheers.

greynt.

Update again...
Since doing the rear tyre carrier I decided that a front box was in order, so I had one made to suit.

Welcome aboard too, greynt
The toolbox was made by MW toolbox centre on Canterbury Rd, Bayswater.
Next door to Spotlight and the Good guys.

Took about 10 days from ordering to pickup.

Thanks for the welcome.
Sorry also forgot to ask if you have an extended draw bar as I forgot to get that with the new van. Hopefully can still get a box for the front to fit without it. Did you have any problems with your pajero towing the van?

Cheers for the welcome. Have found the forum great so far, answering the questions I have had. Pity I didn't find it before we ordered at the caravan show...

No I don't have the extended drawbar, so it will fit.
I have the dimensions of mine in the garage somewhere if you'd like them.

My old Pajero was OK towing the van, but it ran out of steam around the 95-100km/h mark. I couldn't tow in 5th either as we would start going backwards....
3.8V6 petrol is just too thirsty and gutless for a big van, hence why I now have a diesel.

Cheers,
Matty

That would be great, at your leisure would be appreciated. Also what roughly did you pay if you don't mind me asking.

Sorry for not replying sooner.............silly season and all that goes with it..

Anyway, the box I had made measures 500H x 400D x 1600L. Cost was $650
The partition is just bigger than the diameter of the gas bottle, 400 IIRC and it's 300 high so the gas line will be able to screw into the bottle.
It also has a drop down door on the opposite side to enable access when the bed is down.

While you are answering questions... How did you go connecting the referring camera to the Jeep.... Having to reverse the van on my own this could be a handy.

I haven't actually done it yet.
I was waiting to see if we were going to sell the van or not. Looks like we will keep it now...

I am going to order one of these early in the new year with the correct harness for the factory camera bypass
http://www.navtv.com/product/174/allgig-xg-hs.html

It's simple plug and play and allows the input of 2 additional AV sources, like a forward facing camera too, if you like!!..

It also allows the factory DVD to be used whilst driving (not that I recommend that...:eyebrows:)

Cheers mate for the info. We get our van on the 7th of Jan.
So will talk to the toolbox mob after that. I like the idea of the
rear wheel carrier as well, may have to suss that out as well in time.
Thanks again and I appreciate your help also hope you have a
merry Christmas and a great new year.
