17' Series Quicker way to operate drop down legs?

You guys have made my mind up! @DRW , I admire your style with the stubby!!! Absolute necessity for setting up the van!

@Capt. Gadget just wondering if you have broken any of those adaptor bits. The one I found a link for was a 1/2" hex drive where that one looks like 3/8"?

1/2'' Square Socket one end that fits any 1/2' drive socket and 1/4 hex drive the other end to fit most Tek/drywall guns but they work just as well in a cordless drill chuck and I've never broken one (touch wood) I use them to do up the nuts and bolts when I'm erecting Sheds

I realized for the first time yesterday why the Jayco supplied handle is so long.
I watched another expanda setting up. It was a non outback model with the standard fold out legs.
Those are accessed from the back of the van and require the full extension of the tool to access the wind down nut.
But that is no good for those amongst us with the alco drop jacks.
I cut mine in half also,

Yep, I got the idea from @Xpandafan for my cordless with a 19mm socket, should of seen the looks on my mates faces the first time they witnessed 4 drop downs in less than a minute, Priceless! You'll never look back @Hubble80

Well done! Mrs XF knows how to use the cordless wrench and impress the sceptics.
Try the pegs trick as well...sneers quickly turn to sheepish looks after your neighbours bend a few pegs and fray tenpers trying to get an anchor into compacted ground.

I purchased a shorter standard handle, but have also needed to use a socket a times, 4 way wheel brace works also (just). I usually don't wind them all the way up, just clear the ground and fold up, that way you just drop them and only need 1 or 2 turns either way

Found an old wheel wrench in the shed, had been there for years. Never thow anything away, it will come in useful one day.
This will put me offside, but battery powered drills to wind down 4 legs, really

Yeap same here for us, though nowadays the boys are doing most of the set up and Ive already got a coldie in the hand. Pace.

I've got two choices , one I can get the legs done in 2 min , the other in 5 min. And it's the drill that takes 5 min , by the time I find it , set it up and then find out its flat.

Yep Really ! :sad: and wind them up again too!

Yep. They look just like large coach screws to the uninitiated. Screw in and importantly screw out. Use the steel angle brackets and S hooks (and rubber rings) to nail everything down (awning and privacy screens). Mrs XF can use easily as well.
All tidy in a tool box which comes out on arrival. Power down the stabilizers then just swap the socket for peg size. Sockets are Dymo labelled to make it even easier.

@Hubble80 I use a 3/8 drive, my mistake when I replaced my drill I bought one with a 3/8 chuck without thinking, it works fine however

Hey there . I use a 1/2 inch rattle gun with 3/4 socket. Man that gets them up and down. Just got to be carefully not to over do it. I carry the rattle gun mainly incase of flat tyre's.
