Just joined the forum... so here's a bit about us...
We've owned a 16.49.2 since 2009, when we got it new after owning a Finch and another smaller caravan before that. We've got 3 kids (8, 6 and 5) and have done several trips over the past 4 years. Our most recent trip was to Tassie for just over a month between Dec and Jan of this year. Costly exercise getting the van over there, but as we were visiting family for Christmas anyway, decided to go all out and stay for awhile to justify the expense.
Had a great time touring around Tassie, although we were only just a step ahead of the bushfires. We'd free-camped at Dunalley less than 2 days before much of the town was lost. Favourite location in Tassie was probably the Bay of Fires - the beaches are stunning and there's lots of free camp sites. The pic below is at Scamander one evening.
Other than Tassie, we've enjoyed time in Bright, Apollo Bay, Korumburra, Mansfield, King Valley, Mildura (Vic) plus another month in SA (Mt Gambier, Naracoorte, Adelaide, Barossa Valley, Burra, Berri)over the past couple of years. Later this year we're hopefully off to Corryong and then NSW Southern Highlands. So, we don't have a regular place we visit, but love to explore new places!
Home is eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Tow the van with a BA falcon wagon... hoping to upgrade this to a Ranger XLT 4x4 in the next couple of years... but that's a bit of a dream at the moment!
