Just wondering if anyone else has had any troubles with their sink tap?I had the van down the beach with the inlaws in it with our kids and when we went back down to bring it home the tap had worked loose. This is not the first time it has done it.I mentioned it to jayco a couple of weeks ago when it went in for some warranty work. They did tighten it back up but looks like i will have to do the job properly myself.I would like to know what others have done i was thinking either a nyloc nut under the original or maybe just silicon on the nut, thoughts? If a nyloc do you know what size?

Hi mate, that happened to me with our 16' but after tightening it didn't come loose again. Maybe try a spring washer or a nyloc nut as you said, can't help with size but I'd try to stay clear of loctite for this one.....might make removal difficult if needed.

Cheers.

i had the same problem and just tightened it myself and has never come undone. I would do it myself first and see if that is enough.

Thx Brad i thought jayco tightened it back up ok so i`m thinking there might be something else required. We probably swing our tap around more than those of you with HWS when tipping buckets of water in maybe.I thought if i`m climbing in the cupboard i might try to only do it once.
thanks again Matt.

We had the same issue with ours, got one of my sons to squeeze in their arms with a nylon lock nut and 10mm deep reach socket and hold it tighter.

And yes, i had Jayco tighten it as well during service. Pace.

Fair enough, I got a memory for some silly things and seeing your signature took me back, guess there is a double out there with the same taste in vehicle and van.

How ironic, we city folk get out to the country side and you country folk (if I could say that, no offence), come to the city. All most ended up in Ballarat mid last year as a big family move, never happened due to kids, Mrs Pace and I are kicking ourselves now.

Pace.

Yeah, got close friends who bought a farm and ABSOLUTELY are loving it since doing the move 18 months ago. We visit them and don't wont to come home. I'd be there in a fit to look after the farm as they go on holidays. Some people would be laughing at me right about now, though its what I like. Take good care, might cross paths when up your way, look out for me white Pathy with a moving white Atco in tow. LOL.

I went to jayco to quiz them about the tap and the man there showed me the tap assembly and there was 2 brass nuts but i only had 1 so i put the nyloc on ( thx Pace),He told me not to over tighten tho. Fingers crossed it will be ok now.

Hi,

I've owned three Jayco's now. The first a 1998 Jayswift camper, followed by a 2004 Jayco Swan and now a 2010 Expanda 16.49-1, and each and every one has consistently had this problem. Real pain! When I had the Jayswift, I had to be a contortionist to be able to tighten the damn thing up. In the end, I had to remove the sink, take out a shelf, to gain access to the damn tap. Cheez.

I suspect that through vibration it eventually comes lose. The nyloc should fix it.... fingers crossed.

Cheers
