Our old van was 'Eddie' the outback Eagle so this one is naturally ... Big Eddie

Thought I would start a thread to document changes as we go....

Day 1 on way home from pick up at Maccas carpark south Goulburn for lunch

... and 3 days later this is what my wife found when she came out to see what I was doing

I'm not impressed with the guage wire used for battery connections but otherwise it seems tight and well crimped ... which the eagle wasnt!
Should sort all this out this w/e ... as I dont want the setec charging my batteries at all.

Yep, my van has looked like that a few times also....
So why not connecting battery to setec unit? What charges your batteries?

Gday Brad
I like to have solar (390w) via a good regulator (sunsaver duo) charge the batteries independently of each other and the setec. I only use the setec to distribute 12v from the batteries when camping or from 240v transformed down when plugged in. On the very rare occasion I get 5-6+ days of poor solar I will charge each battery seperately with a ctek 25amp charger and a Honda gennie.
cheers

Zero... they were on with button spot velcro so it was no problem.

Pace... glued two lengths of Meranti together (now about 45mm thick) with wood glue (chose Meranti for weight and colour) clamped together for 48hrs
...cut to shape so it was a tight fit and weight would be down on benchtop
...used marine varnish for gloss and protection
...use sika glue/sealer all over back which went against wall
...2 x 50mm wood screws from side of top cupboard into Meranti
...8 x 50mm wood screws hold swing arm base onto Meranti
It is so solid the whole van shakes on its suspension when you try and move it!
cheers
