I was gazing longingly at the van this morning and noticed the antenna wire sticking up so thought I'd take a little look. Seems that there is a lot of free cable and when I got up their the cover had come off the cable entry point. I put it back on and threw a cable tie on it and all is well but there is still a lot of loose cable. Has anyone else encountered this and what did you do? I would imagine there needs to be some free cable to allow for the movement of the antenna but this seems a bit much.

If you look carefully at the picture you can see the excess cable at the antenna head also.

Mine is like this too, I think it has something to do with the fact that extra cable is needed when rotating the antenna while it is up, I could be wrong though.

Ours doesn't but I noticed the rubber boot that the cable runs through gets in the way of the rotating mechanism. Thus if I am not careful I can dislodge the boot from its housing if I rotate the antenna too far.
