what size genartor i need

hi new to this site i am waiting on my new 14.44-4 outback to come from jayco and would like to get a genartor to run the air com so does any one beable to help with what size i would need thank you all

Hi Shane,

Normally you'd need atleast a 2Kva but it depends on what size AC unit you've ordered.

General van use a 2Kva is normal and what most vanners/campers carry, the Hondai20 or Yamaha equivelant is most common

Hi all,
The Herron 2.2 spit a/c draws 6.5amps on heating and 4amps on cooling. A 2kva genni is good for 6.7amps continuous.
I was advised by my Jayco dealer that Honda and Kipor genni's are the only ones that can be used without affecting Jayco warranty (I don't know if this is true or not).

Hi All. We have the 2.2 A/C and our honda 20i runs it fine on heat and cooling. It does rev up close to maximum revs but I guess that's what it's s'posed to do. I just put it at the end of a couple of 15metre extension leads and stick it behind a tree and you hardly notice it running.
