Weight Distribution Hitch

Hi all... We've just ordered a Jayco Starcraft 17.58.1 outback and the grand plan was to upgrade the suspension on my prado and do without a weight distribution hitch. My plans have now come unstuck as the prado has the KDSS suspension which can't be upgraded...so I'm back to needing a hitch!

I've narrowed my googling down to a Hayman Reese one but hoping to pick up a near new one rather than buy new...so if you have one please let me know.

I'm in Adelaide so local preferred (for obvious reasons!)

Great forum too! :)

Yes @MarkGroote I would guess the costs would be high.
@Janbo just beat me to it as I was looking in Gumtree to get an idea of second hand costs and was just about to post the same link!!!!

Will be advertising for about the same as the ones in the link.

Hello to all. I need some info on WDH to suit our new Outback, with the tow ball connection at the bottom of the draw bar rather than the top, the system I have won't work. Can anyone help me out here, it has a 6" chassis, I would imagine there would be lots of them on the road so any info would be appreciated. Regard Bill

Hayman Reece WDH works fine with standard ball hitch arrangement of the Outback chassis with the coupling at the bottom.

I've got an outback 17.58 arriving soon and figured I'd need a WDH - does anyone know which Hayman Reece model works with the standard outback starcraft? Do I need to get a standard or a classic - 28 or 30 inches? Appreciate your help!

Hi Bluey - do you know if you got a 28 vs 30 inch model? Or is the classic only available in one length? And can you let me know where you got it? They might post one to me?
