what is the best water filter to get i want to fill my tanks and filter it before it goes in the tank

Hey Thomo,
I think you said it in your post,they're called B.E.S.T water filters. They are able to hook up inline with your hose, reverse flush able, and I think last 12 months. They're around $100 from memory. I'm sure one of the larger two stage water filters would give a better result but for size , price and convenience I reckon they're the best.

I use an inline filter that I get from BCF. Costs around $30 and has worked well so far (5 months).
I will replace it next month but I am on boar water here and it has removed all odor although i have drinking water going through another filter as well and it still tastes crap if I drink it straight (mix it with cordial).
I also have drinking hose to the van andd brass fittings after the filter to eliminate the plastic taste.
