Xpandafan,

We got a small blue plastic clip in the draw of stuff at our Expanda handover the other week - this is used to clip onto to the Dometic fridge door latch ad then allows the door to star ajar. At handover, the guys at Bendigo mentioned that most people throw out the plastic clip because the do not know or remember what it is for!

Cheers,

Ro

With regards a solar trickle charger, you could look at using the new flexible solar cell packs and permanently attach them to your van cover and then have a lead coming down to the Anderson Plug or Van's 7/12 pin plug. Being flexible, they will be easy to fold up with the van cover.

Cheers,

Ro

Thanks Ro, apologies to Jayco. Maybe original owner lost or disgarded (or kept as spare) will check with Dometic.

Hi relgate, just get one of your stubbie holders and put in the opening, that's what I used to do and left it there for a week then took out and let it close again.....all good and no smells/mould. Same with fridge door....close after a week and all good! Ps. I wipe out with chamois first.

Cheers.

Great idea.

Ro, thats a bl%#dy great idea. No chance of flying off or damaging the van or panel when stored and wind or storms blow up, no hard or sharp edges. Just plenty of Sikaflex and stick it on, and be a bit careful folding the cover up. Probably a thin bit of MDF should protect it when folding.

thx

Hi all,

A mate of mine who developed a mold issue in his Swan put me on to a moisture absorbing container that he gets from Woollies. I leave one of these in the sink when the van goes into storage - which ensures that the moisture has somewhere to go before it has the opportunity to grow anything. Its like a little bucket with crystals in it - can't remember the brand...

By the way - A big G'day - I'm new to the forum!

Hi Jas
We have ours covered with a prestige cover, which has been great with no scratch problems. We used to store ours near pimpama and then at storage king. We decided to bring it home as we got fed up with not having a cold fridge until the day after we arrived . Unable to precool. As for the battery we only isolate with the switch and have had it under cover for a month now and there is still 13.4v available. Not too sure but I think the solar still charges even under the cover. A bit like a cloudy day. Then again I could be totally wrong.

Nah...mine does the same, only drops a little bit.
Work on sunLIGHT rather than sunshine (albeit slowly thru the cover). Mine still chargeup until sunset/dusk and in partial shade (without the cover) that's why they're mounted flat on the van roof. Maybe not the most efficient, but it's 100% effective.
