Hi All,

Just purchased a 2012 16.49-1B and do not have a fitted TV antenna on the van - just a pair of sockets inside and out (near the power inlet).

I was just wondering how people have gone about mounting an antenna? I have an antenna to use (the PVC pole type) from my previous van but interested in how others mount theirs.

Ady.

Welcome to the forum. Have always had wind up annenae but sometimes reception is hit and miss as mentioned. Someone more qualified will chime in I'm sure. Good luck.

@ady17

If your heading anywhere up north of Perth I would advise on purchasing a saterlite TV.

I can't remember the last time we used the snow flake(Wingard Arial on the van).

ahhh yes @ady17 , but
I dont use the TV I have for watching - the daughter has a HDD that we plug in with a heap of her movies
same with portable DVD player, and her Note Pad

keeps her out of mischief - so all good

if I was wanting to watch the News, or whatever, someone has said on here somewhere (cannot remember who or which thread) but they use their Foxtel, just unplug from house and plug into Van

dont remember the exact thingy

but if you have Foxtel already, tis an option

Welcome to the forum @ady17 .

We had the PVC pipe style ariel on our previous van and if not near a major rural city (or TV repeater) the thing used to get put away and we watched dvd's if the weather was bad. It was mounted with the fittings that came with it and an extra PVC clip on the poptop lid to allow for the extra pipe I added to it.
New van has the wind up winegaurd and is a bit better but not 100%.

7 years ago went to Satellite and never looked back.

Also @bigcol & @dagree you have to make sure you can watch the AFL grand final on saterlite especially because both of the WA AFL teams will be there on grand final day this year. :behindsofa: :bounce:
