Perth, WA.
Hi All, We're picking up our new 17.56.2 from Page Bros in Vic in mid Jan 2012. We have plans to come back to WA via the Gt Ocean Rd. Can anyone recommend places to visit or parks to stop at between Seaford and Karratha. This will be a pretty good shakedown trip, only 5300kms. Cheers Neil.

Vic; Lorne, Apollo bay, Pt Cambell, Warrnanbool, Pt Fairy, S.A. Mt Gambier, Coorong, Whole of the Eyre Peninsula, Head of the Bight, Eucla, WA: Kalgoorlie, Pemberton, Cape LeGrand, Esperence, Albany, Augusta, Cervantes, Carnarvon, and anywhere else north to Karratha. What a huge area. Depends on how long you intend to take to cover it to what you can see.
There is so much to look at on a trip over that distance. It's a hot time to be crossing the Nullabor, having said that we're going to be out there at that time also. Might spot you out there somewhere............As far as parks go google is your friend.
Just thought..... Most of these places will be booked out that time of the year also. You might want a plan & book ahead,
What a great trip, you will have a fantastic time.
now I am getting impatient............ Hurry up November...........

vic : torquay, and all others above ( possibilty catch the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliffe) cant remeber the price but will cut of all the city traffic and you could stay at Queenscliffe for the night .
SA : Ardrossan, Moonta (Yorke Penisula), coffin bay, port lincoln (depending if you want to divert down that way ) murphys haystacks fantastic rock formations , head of the bight its about 25km round trip off the highway but fantastic view from what I remember the whales are there aug - sep and eucla is a great stop to explore the telegraph office etc . Eucla has great hot showers for $1 no water to vans but there is power

WA. Kalgoolie, esperance etc new norcia, cervantes and the pinnacles, quobba good free camp spot up round carnavon / geraldton and to really impress the family the HUTT river province and mad prince leonard google it (haha)

Lots of free camps spots across nullabour,(camps books is a must) watch the coppers coming into Norseman red hot on breathalysers even at 9am and they dont like dangy things from mirror $150 fine friends of ours copped. Just remember carry your own water servos don't like or wont give it to you
Remember Ceduna is the last spot to stock up on food before crossing the nullabour and no fresh vegs, fruit , honey etc into eucla border crossing find more info on AQIS website
