We sold our swan to someone having one of these.truth fully I as chringing watching it going away.and that's not only we were sad and going to miss it.though the length pendulum effect on the towbar was quite lengthy.as for compliance and capabilities,I guess the new owner had confirmed all that prior to purchase.cheers.
I'm not sure of the tow capacity of the CRV but don't be fooled into thinking that Eagle type campers are light especially the Outback Models ours rocked in around the 1600 kg mark, naturally our Swan was heavier again.
I know Cruza had a CRV but not as a tow vehicle, so I'm sure he'll be along to add his 2 bobs worth

The ball weights can be quite high too - 120 kg.
Ok an Expanda is around 170 kg but most are surprised at the camper weights!

For what it's worth – I tended to really load up my campers (Swan and FlamingoOB) and I don't think I'm alone in that. Think: flys, annexe and poles, annexe flooring, chairs, extra table, camp wardrobe/cupboard, bbq, solar panels, etc. Weight could well be an issue with Eagle going close to or exceeding CR-V's maximum braked towing weight.

An Eagle std is advertised at 100kg ball/953kg mass, and 109kg/1109kg for the OB model.
So technically yes a 2008 model could tow it, and is about 80% of the CRVs allowance. (Empty)

We had a 2000 mdl which we sold recently to buy the Pajero, and I wouldn't tow an Eagle with one. Yes it might do it but it would be putting a lot of stress on the whole tow package. We did have a OB Hawk previously so I know what weight is involved when towing one also and I wouldnt've considered towing it with the CRV.
