Hi all,
Any feedback would be appreciated? As I am collecting my new 2014 Jeep limited today and was hoping someone might have an idea where I can install my P3 brake controller also if anyone tows a 17.56.1 with their jeep and to use level riders or not as the limited has one off self levelling. Any feedback would be fantastic

Hi Cheznick5 we have a 2012 CRD Limited. Its brilliant - could not be happier. We mounted the controller in the cubby in the centre console. Very neat and accessible, and when not in use you don't even know its there. I don't have self levelling suspension and I do use a WDH on trips. All up I'm only towing <2t of the 3.5t capacity, but I prefer the extra assurance of the WDH. Cheers

Hi Cheznic

I have a diesel MY14 JGC and it is a fabulous towing machine. 8 speed gear box is very flexible too.

I tend to tow (2700kgATM van) in sport mode so it changes up more quickly. My car has quadralift and I use a Hayman Reese WDH.
(The guy camping next to me right now also has a JGC - Limited model with self leveling suspension- and also uses one too).

I have a Redarc remote head controller which is a neat solution with the button mounted near the fuel door button. Takes some getting used to and needs constant adjustment but I can live with it.

There are pages written about where to mount the P3 on the Jeep Garage site. Many have put them in the cubby hole in front of the gear lever. There is a very useful thread called the 'Towing thread' on the site which I suggest you read. Google "towing thread jeep". It will take you a few hours to get through! In the end make sure who ever fits the controller knows what they are doing.

Enjoy the jeep. Great car.

Cheers.
Andrew

I have a MY14 Laredo CRD with Quadralift and don't use a WDH (level rider) with my 2ton Discovery.
Have P3 in the cubby. Good luck with your pickup today. Make sure the dealer has done all the updates for Air Con and Uconnect.

You might want to look at this issue I had also.

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f190/the-towing-thread-62189-14.html#post866907

It related to the 'release voltage' of the isolator use to direct high amperage voltage from the battery for the fridge. The quest for fuel economy in high tech cars means the use of a variable alternator. My Jeep seems to 'float charge' at 13 volts and only occasionally pumps out a high 14 volt charge when necessary.

In the end resolved but in case you got stuck this is the only real (short term issue) I have had.

Cheers
Andrew.

PS loving our first real holiday with the new Starcraft 20.62-3! For those that read about our first night away a few weeks back, no hail in sight......!

Thanks everyone for the info such a greT help.
Spoke to the auto elec and he is mounting it under the light switch as he claims it is a big job to mount in the cubby where I wanted it. I will get it done at a later stage.

I've been really happy with my JGC ltd. have only been on a couple of trips so far. I haven't used a wdh and my 16.49-3 tows nice and level. I have the quadralift and its takes the extra weight in its stride. When I was getting the brake controller fitted i asked to have it installed in the central console but the AE seemed really unsure about that, would be big job he said to remove console, etc, so I thought best not to risk it. It has taken a bit of room in the footwell, but I'm used to it now. May get it changed later.

Us pricing would be nice but I got A sensational deal on my limited.
If you shop hard I'm sure you will get a great price.
Do you mind me asking what was the deal you got.
I'm in the market for a replacement for the Kluger and GC is on the list.
