How noisy should the flame be when running on gas. Picked up a N3185 and it works really well on 240v but when switching over to gas, it ignites but is fairly noisy.

Welcome to the forum

Fairly noisy. The flame should be pretty vigorous (more than say a gas hob flame) and a decent blue colour. The only fault is usually a blocked jet which gives a useless yellow flame.

If it's a new install then the other consideration is the supply pressure regulator being possibly too high?

It should only be a faint sound when up close, the flame isn't at all like that required for a HWS, shouldn't be much more than a large pilot light as its a constant burn it doesn't get bigger or smaller..... if its a large flame sounding like a HWS then its certainly faulty.

Hi,

can you be a bit more specific about what sort of noise the fridge is making and where it is coming from?

For instance, is it noise from the gas flame or is it noise from a cooling fan.
If it is from the gas flame, does it change when you turn the temperature control from the warmest setting to the coldest setting?

Thanks for the replies.
Only noticed noise because it's louder than the Dometic fridge I currently use. Noise is from flame.
Photo is of flame on Max cool setting. May be higher pressure than van as running off a weber BBQ hose and reg.

More familar with Dometic units but if its running outside then that may account for the higher noise level, the fridge burns at about the same rate as my big Dometic ( 1.5 mj/hr ) and the gas regulator for a Weber should be a standard at 2.75 kpa ...

Thanks, Probably right about noisier if not installed. Fridge works well. Was going to fit it into our previous van but sold it before installing. Just testing it for last 2 weeks in preparation to sell it.
