After many years on arguing with persons of little knowledge on chains/shackles and lately hooks I have found this fellas informative and really factual clip on chains/shackles and hooks, thankfully what I have been sprouting is correct in regards to shackle size, loadings etc and while hooks are legal, again if sized correctly they really aren't ideal, I don't like them and really if you had any road sense they would be on the chain with a shackle on the vehicle, I wish I was around when I saw the fella who was dragging an old tyre behind him one day down here, hooks hanging down like a bullocks dusters are bound to catch stuff ..................
I've read the brain numbing publications for years and did a equally brain numbing crane/lifting course, only to never drive a kangaroo crane ever again but the imprint is still there inside ...............
