The perfect toasting method

Here is a simple question.... Who has managed a perfect toasting method from a toaster in a van without setting off the smoke alarm?
And if this phenomenon is possible, what is the secret?

We toast under the rangehood with the fan going! Seems to work well.

and put alarm in the bottom drawer until pulled over by RTA or for resale

We put a "shower cap" over the alarm to cook toast.

Folds up to nothing and goes in that useless top drawer that pivots from the bottom.

Takes no time to fit and remove and leaves the alarm in place for what it really should be for - alerting you at night whilst you sleep.
