Stove/ heat vent on poptop canvas/ PVC

Question

On the pop tops, you have a open vent on the poptop PVC above the fridge and stove. I guess ideally this is to let any heat out from cooking and fridge operation. LPG sinks to the lowest part and normally out the van door vents.

When it is cold and windy, does anyone cover these up ? I really dont see any issue as long as common sense prevails ? The other night it was blowy and the only cold air entering was from those bloody vent holes, I was so close to taping them up, but tape was in the car and meant going outside

What are other people doing ?

I wouldn't thought much cold air would come in to make it colder.
My concern would be no air getting in the van. But can't see a drama if you tape them up.
Personally I'd just put on a jumper.

We had our 2 year old, etc. Just easier trying to maintain a warmer enviroment sometimes.

If you are referring to the 2 small vents up just below the roof line, these are there to help roof open/ close, prevents suction/ vacuum. that's why they tell you to leave door open when lifting/lowering roof
similar to closing a car door, when you can here air escape via vents,

G'day Swerve. I went bush with Tim, then 2.5, around this time last year. It was freezing cold. I just added layers of clothing. As he got warmer I removed a layer. When he got colder I added a layer.

I wouldn`t if free camping and using gas fridge etc. But I have in a van park on power. Turned the gas off at the bottle cardboard from a beer box works well inbetween the doors to block the vent and taped up the top vents. Left one a little open.
