A bit of info on our 200...(edit: to tow our expanda 20.63 and carry our tribe of kids!)

It's a 2011 GXL TTD bought last year in preparation for our trip this year. Started life in Tassie as a company directors car so pretty stock.

Had a long list of needs and wants...I need it and I want it!

As always though the $$$ dictate the priorities.

So we started with...

...essentially a stock LC200. Toyota factory alloy bar and UHF were the only 'extras' when we bough it.

Let the fun and expense  begin!

So far we have added:
  • Rhino rack pioneer platform
  • hi-lift jack & shovel holder; home made maxtrax holder - shamelessly modeled on the rhino ones maxtrax.jpg
  • Tow-pro elite brake controller
  • Anderson plug
  • ipad RAM mount
  • Plug and go
  • Safari snorkel
  • Lovells GVM upgrade
  • ARB winch bar - got for a bargain 2nd hand
  • cruiser new bar.jpg
  • 12000lb winch
  • ARB rated recovery points
  • Mickey Thompson ATZ P3's on new rims
  • Richards TC lockup kit
  • Clearview mirrors
cruiser packed to go.jpg

Still to come...
  • Airbags
  • Diff breathers
  • Catch can
  • 2nd fuel filter
Also having EGR clean before we head off in July...I've been reading far too much!

Cheers

dayam, hard to like that last post mate

might also suggest that maybe the oil has not been changed regularly, if at all...........

last time I seen something like that was on my HJ47 when I brought it - the 2H had never had an oil change (10yr old when I got it)
as was my want at the time, it was completely stripped and rebuilt

but it also did not have an EGR system.................................

The oils is caused by the EGR system , and the greenies wanting it recycled back into the intake, grab a good catch can and have it fitted

I recommend a direction plus kit,,,,, but I do work for them

Hi @bigcol

If the service log can be believed it has had oil changed and definitely has since I've had it!

Will let you know the outcome of the clean out...

when I went looking for my 100 series, the first thing everyone said to me was make sure the log book has been filled in - and NOT by the same dealer who is selling it
no log book or filled in by dealer selling - walk away with head held high
because the service intervals went from 10K to 15/20K a lot of people "forgot" to get them serviced from new, and then "some" dealers were filling them in themselves to make it look like it was done properly

when I brought my Kakadu 100 series, 13 months old and it had 79K on the clock
1st service selling dealer (NSW)
2nd service Major dealer in WA
3rd service - dealer I brought it from

so I was happy

I had the engine stripped and assessed after I fitted and then removed a Supercharger to it (V8 petrol) at about 130K

long involved story

@bigcol now you've gone and made me re-check the log book...

all good - first few by the original dealer then services nicely spread around the state.

@MBC004 - thanks for that. I'm no mechanic but I assume fitting a catch can negates having to blank the EGR keeping the emissions police happy?

Fitting the catch can, negates the need of the EGR block, and much better than modifying the factory system, I prefer this method as I don't like tunes or chips, just personal preference

The direction plus kits come with everything required for the car, no holes drilled fit up, includes the stainless bracket, provent catch can and all hose clamps and reducers

Same as the diesel pre filters

this egr thing has been quite the process...

4 days in the shop to clean it out...apparently the worst they had seen??!! I'm no mechanic and don't really know what I'm looking at but here are photos the guys took...

...it sure looks bad!

Any of you other 200 owners had this done?

Will see if it has any positive effect of fuel consumption/performance. Kinda feels better to have had it done!
