some wiring questions hope someone can help

I have installed a pump for the kitchen sink and want to be able to isolate it through a switch for traveling and to sop little people from using all the water. Should I putin a relay in the circit if i put in a switch?
if so how would I wire this in?
is a normal car light relay suitable?

Also I bought some digital panel meters (pitcured below) a far while ago, used some in another project that has now moved on (the camper trailer) and have one left which I want to use for keeping and eye on the battery in the van. I have the box and the meter but no wiring instuctions, it ws bought of the ebay of opertunity and not sure who from. I was hoping that some out there has also used this type of meter and can explain how to install it to show volts.

Hi jason

All you will need is a switch that can handle the load of the pump. i would avoid fitting a relay as it is not necessary and will constantly draw power while switched on. As for the meter this supplier seems to sell the same type so may be able to help.
