Hi guys, I've done a fair bit of searching about what type if Reg comes standard in the Outbacks.

I've even searched eBay for pics of what I think it might be. Dealer says it's a 30amp but I'd like to know what actual reg it is so I can organise my solar set up.

Question re the panels we were looking at the 17.56-2 they say it comes with 1x150w panel would we fit another 150w panel on the roof? We would want the 300w...

There is more to it than just adding another solar panel

1. you need to make sure that you don't exceed 30 amps otherwise your up for another regulator.
2. Make sure that your wiring can handel the 30 amps too

That's some things but there is other members on here that are more electrical minded than myself that will have more info.

We had a second panel fitted by the factory. The standard regulator is running both panels fine.

300w is a lot of solar however it is better to be safe than sorry especially on a few poor weather days. The Jayco order forms state they come standard with 120w panel, maybe they have upgraded them.

I will be punting the standard regulator and replacing it with an MPPT unit with a tracer. Just have to see where I can fit it all when I pick it up.

Be a better option to fit a second battery @Patons Gives you a bugger bank which the 120w will charge well on good days.

I'll be running the two batteries plus wiring in a connection for my 195w folding panels. Mainly if we are camping for longer periods of time or under shady area etc.

The reg that Jayco use can be found in the "coast to coast rv" catalog online.

240w will be heaps. Especially with an additional battery. I'm going to toss the Jayco reg n install a 30a mppt with a tracer head. Running a total of 320w of solar for worse case scenarios.
