Toy Hauler side vent on basestation

Hello

Just wondering if any one can tell me what the side pop out vent does on the basestation as I do not have one on my basestation an am wondering if I should have one. I have seen them on some vans but not all.

Normally the vent is located on the door side of the van and goes through the wall into the bunk room.
will try to find a photo of the vent I am talking about.

Not sure myself. Haven't used it yet, but had presumed that it might be to comply with regulations for carrying fuel or vehicles containing fuel. Unlike windows, looks OK to drive with it open, maybe creating positive air pressure?

Thsts what I thought it would be for.
But how come I don't have one fitted to my Basestation?
