Second Spare Tyre

Hi, We have an 18.57.7 and are planning to leave next month travel around Australia for a year or so. Is the standard 1 spare wheel adequate or should we invest in a second spare for the van?

Depends what type of roads you intend travelling on. Now i only stick to the tar so i only carry one but when i was using dirt or gravel remote roads i carried two.

Hey there dp depending on your destination if going out bush carry a tyre or two only to cut down on a bit of weight as well as your origional spare

hi i have to take 2 different sizes as my cruiser is a 315/75/16 and the van runs 235/70/15

I agree with BP maybe carry some tyre plugs too as they can be a saviour if needed along with a compressor to pump up any repairs carried out. Just dont use the tyre plugs in the sidewalls as sidewalls shouldn't be repaired.
