Just returned from a week at Seal Rocks Holiday Park. Despite the lack of fish and surf over the week we were there, it was a very enjoyable stay. Putting shoes on and going back to work was a real struggle. Seal Rocks is located about 140km north of Newcastle NSW. The park is on the outskirts of the Myall Lakes National Park and has easy access to several beaches, the NP and bushwalking trails. No pets are allowed in the park. There are cabins, powered and unpowered sites available however there is no water available at individual sites. Water is available at central points and staff can assist with running a hose to fill/top-up tanks as needed. Site size varies and I'd recommend contacting park management to confirm whether bigger vans will fit onto sites. Ice is available at the park. There is a servo (diesel & unleaded) / small store at Bungwahl on the Lakes Way a short distance north of the Seal Rocks turnoff. The park has an older amenities block, laundry, BBQs near the front gate. There is a new very well equipped camp kitchen and amenities block at the opposite side of the park. Also nearby is the sewerage treat area which can be on the nose at times. The park is very popular and booking a fair time in advance is highly recommended. A powered site for one week was around $230. Free wi-fi is available – 3hrs, 50mb upload/download each connection. Within the park, zero bars for Optus – Yes!! (it was a holiday after all). Similar experience with Telstra. Just outside the park is a Telstra pay phone – was able to get 2-3 bars standing nearby. Foster/Tuncurry is a 30 min drive away; Bulahdelah about the same. Getting there is via the A1, turning onto the Lakes Way and then following signs to Seal Rocks turnoff. There is a 2km stretch of gravel road on the road into Seal Rocks – can be a bit rough depending on weather conditions/amount of traffic. With a 50m walk from the park to a beautiful beach, I found Seal Rocks a great spot for a break. Included are some photos from our holiday. In no particular order – our Expanda 12; park entrance; the beach; Seal Rocks; local wildlife (goannas, bush turkeys and dingoes wander around the park – it's Australia after all :biggrin-26:. I think this is the place we stayed years ago and got flooded out in the middle of the night (we were in a tent at that stage, as we were towing a boat). Good times.

Have been looking for places close enough for weekends away - might have to head up there again.
