All my vans windows (and walls) took a bit of a beating when we were away. Like a classic car, bit by bit the Behemoth is being restored to its former showroom glory. Some experimenting over the last couple of days has resulted in a very easy novice fix for light window scratches (scratches are those you cant hook with your finger nail. Deeper gouges will require sanding and probably isnt for the faint hearted, but no guts no glory)
Gouges will require a bit of this kind of action, but light scratching wont require the sanding.
Light scratches that cant be caught with a finger nail, are very easily buffed out with either of these secret magic potion. I just use the Brasso, but the Silvo is a slightly less aggressive product. Cover a section of the window with neat Brasso and do a couple of passes with the polisher with a damp foam pad, with good pad pressure on around 3 of 9 on the speed. (or it can be done by rag, but its a good workout). Dont be shy with the polisher pressure, you want the pad to work. After first two neat passes, very (very) lightly mist with water between each pass. The first few mistings will dry quite quickly, and youll eventually after 4 or 5 passes end up with a wet beading window and its then time to wipe up and checkyour handy work. Generally light scratches will only require one session. Simples
