Hi all,
Just wondering if it is ok to run the roof top aircon without popping the roof on the 17.56.2 models? Bit hot in the north west and the wife is complaining about cleaning the van out under the carport. I did think of suggesting that she do it at 3am in the morning but thought better of it!
Cheers

we enquired about this at the dealers and they said they could see nothing wrong with this , we drop the roof when temp gets over 40 'c and its amazing how much it helps.also shut the privacy curtains on bed ends and this keeps the van quite comfortable.

We have had the air con running whilst the roof has been down and had never encountered a problem.

Hi There, living in the North West WA myself, i know what you mean. My air-con is on the side and i use it all the time while moding or cleaning ( or just sitting in there dreaming) As long as its got clean air flow, i don't see a problem.
Cheers

This is great to hear as I had thought about this myself. Can't stand humidity so is a good option to do when cleaning up or packing up to go away without having to full set up the van!

I had my Dometic serviced in Broome. Dometic technician climbed on the roof and was operating the roof aircon all with the lid in the closed position. So the Dometic Aircon technician certainly didn't think having the lid down was a problem for the aircon.
