Hi all,
2007 expanda 16-49-3
I've tried searching but couldn't come up with what I need.
I've ripped the fly screen on the bed end, I've had a look to see if I can take the canvas end put, so I can take down to the upholster, but it seems that it is held in place by a steel plate that I can't seem to undo, has anyone taken the canvas end out? If so how do I do it without wrecking it more, I do like doing as much as I can, pennies better off in my pocket, but this one has me stumped

held in by 3 steel plates on the bed edge, and poked into a u shaped channel on the sides and top. the plates were probably done up with a bit driver so they will be tight, take them off and label which way they go. canvas will be sort of stuck down under them but start in the corner where it's velcroed and you should be able to gradually pull it clear, then it's just a matter of pulling the tent out of the channel, go easy it could tear if you get a bit forceful. I use a flat scredriver bent at the end to just open the channel slightly behind the canvas to ease it out.
installation is just the reverse, i find it easy to sit on the bed facing inwards with the tent in my lap and gradually seating it in the channel with a piece of hardwood and my bent screwdriver, take your time and you should be fine

cheers Dave

thanks Dave for that, I managed to get it off without any issues, the most time consuming thing was pulling out the million staples that a previous owner had put in, attempting to replace the screen, the scary thing will be the cost to get the new flyscreen sewn back in, as the upholster wouldn't give a price and said it wouldn't be ready for a few weeks , getting it back in will be whole different story, just hope we don't get a heap of rain before I get it back, I don't imagine it will be real waterproof with the bedend out.

Was pretty easy getting the canvas off, I got the s)):(:) with the upholster went n got my bed end back and sewed in the new fly screen myself with my hand me down sewing machine, I just used a denim needle and canvas thread, worked a treat, can't believe I was going to pay someone to do it, it took a bit of time getting it back in, but got there in the end and now like brand new,
