I was planning to replace the awning fabric and checked out a few prices between $400 and $800ish. FB does that thing where anything you look for appears in your feed for the next 6 months - which usually annoys the heck out of me. But up pops an ad for a boxing day sale by Jillaroo - resulting in $365 for a 15' fabric with similar pattern to original
IMG_20210123_124920.jpgThe last 5 years have not been kind
IMG_20210123_124932.jpgMuch of the stitching has failed
IMG_20210123_124945.jpgAnd so out of square the arms had to be unequal lengths and with duct tape packing to make it roll up straight
IMG_20210123_132126.jpgI cut the tube off to simplify removal but it still needed plenty of silicon to slide the old track out
IMG_20210123_133037.jpgNothing like an engineer son to help with the physical stuff
IMG_20210123_134845.jpgPushing the tube thru was fairly easy although sliding it into the track and then onto the drum was a two person job

IMG_20210123_144836.jpgA few openings, resetting the rhs arm back to equal length with the lhs. Now I just have to insert the locking screws

About 3 hours all up seeing we had no idea other than youtube to guide us - but the enclosed instructions were pretty good

Fabric seems pretty similar to the original so it's a tick from me

I have found that the drum itself can be rotten as well, pays to check so you don't get caught with a good awning but a dodgy drum a few years later, but yeah its fun, a crooked awning can sometimes be caused by the awning moving in the track so its not square with the barrel so wont roll equally, since you have fitted your own I assume this is known to you, mine has shrunk that much last trip with the storms around I fitted my anti-flap rails, they didn't fit, they wouldn't clamp the vinyl so I pulled out the trusty hole borer and made some new holes 25mm in from the old ones, the idea being if a storm came thru it would tear the awning and not fold it over Big mal and rip a wall off or something............. no damn storm.

Crap just checked out your shop, Jillaroo, nice price for just the vinyl, went and checked my shop for the whole deal, bugga its gone up $100....BUM... might have to look at some refurbishing, fun I think not.........Actually $475 + freight from Jillaroo might be a serious option to $900 + freight, just means doing some work on barrel.......... a good soak in Lanox maybe ??????
