Im currently plonked in Coolum and adjacent to us is a recent looking 22.68 ish looking Starcraft Outback. Dont know what year tho.

The chassis section is significantly smaller then our 2014 20.xx.xx Expanda. Our chassis section is 150mm and the Starcraft chassis is the same height as the cross members, at 100mm ... which by comparison is the same size as my rear bumper. Also at 100mm, the Starcraft drawer bar is significantly smaller then our 150mm

Our walls externally hang down past floor level around 50mm and sit in the rebate section, the Starcraft walls seem to sit at floor level.

Any comments; is this an 'across the entire range' reduction or is it unique to Starcrafts

Does this pic help decipher (pic 1)? This is our 2016 built van (StarCraft Outback TL). Ours is 150mm right through - same as yours. When viewed from side on though (second pic), the chassis definitely looks smaller - seems to be partially obscured by the walls?

Seems you might be lucky @Doc because this one here is certainly on a 100mm chassis right through from front to back. My Expanda is similar to your Starcraft, the walls step down onto a recess 50mm lower than the floor, obscuring the chassis as you've shown.

This Starcraft here isnt like our builds, the walls are level with the floor on a noticeably smaller 100mm chassis section. I'll go and chat to them after I work out how to ask without sounding like Im suggesting their van is pox.

Their drawbar looks like maybe 120mm

That's definitely different isn't it @crustt.
"Touring" model starcrafts come with solid axle suspension, so it rules that out of the equation.
Certainly an interesting situation!
I wonder if it was an early build of the new style perhaps? Got me wondering anyway. Will be interested to hear what you find out. Obviously not wanting to hang poo on anyones van, just interested in the outcome.

Main Chassis is 15 the drawbar is 12. Doc is your drawbar 15 or 12?
Is that a JTECH suspension on that or a older type?

All over my head ...................................... but back on topic I have noticed strange chassis set ups on a couple of vans thought they must have had tour vans with special suspension set ups.....
