To be honest I really don't understand what all the fuss about these bed end covers is about.
I have the std Geelong prestige Jayco shade privacy screens. They are made of very thick black shade cloth, are screwed to the kid, and have clips to neatly fold them up under the lid.
They stop all but gale force sideways rain. Even then what gets through is not enough to get through the canvas. And in the mornings the bed ends are completely dark.
Cost about 400 ish from memory, but was wrapped up in the overall van price.
Prestige Jayco will supply to any dealer.

They throw the shade cloth ones in with any outback purchase I thought?
Wouldn't say they where bad for light, but where terrible up here in qld in keeping the rain out off the beds. We had 2 issues with saturated beds with just the shade cloth privacy screens on, then once we fitted the canvas bed ends never got wet again. We spent a full week over last Xmas with terential rain and neither bed showed any signs of getting wet.

Nope. At least in 2013 when I got mine they were an add on. And the prestige Jayco ones are twice as thick as others I've seen with back to back comparisons, but are completely hassle free. Fold up with the lid.

Yeah mine is due same time.

I was just there today actually, and I'm refraining from venting about another issue. But hopefully no probs with the delivery date and extras I've ordered.

Time has gone quite quickly though I thought...

Greg Hanlon. He is a Motorhome specialist, but he was given my sale after I initially dealt with a guy at the Bris Show. It appears that Jayco fly salesmen from around the country to all the shows, so it's pot luck who you get on the day. Unfortunately I was told, and promised a range of things, then he flies home with his commission and poor old Greg was left to deal with a slightly pi..ed off client.

Greg has been very good to deal with, and has been a pleasure to deal with the whole way.

Congrats @Dean81 on your purchase. I called into Caravanland in Brisbane on Wednesday to have a look at the new 18 series. Love 'em!

Can't wait for ours to arrive (18.58.1)

@relgate You Can see the one they brought to the Brisbane show on Facebook on the Brisbane camperland page. Just the internal layout has been changed a little to suit the market, so I'm told.
Still has all the inclusions they just shoved some stuff around to make it fit better and more user friendly.
Don't like the curtain closing off the toilet/sink area, so we are adding another door. This will be done ourselves after we receive the van.
how are you going to add the door? the curtain is a stupid idea, I'm not sure why they don't ave a door like the 17.56??? keen to see how you do this and costs involved.

Get the van tomorrow, will work it out from there. My mate is a cabinet maker, it will be a similar door To the 17:56-2, nice and light.

My wife hates the curtain also, so it will be done sooner than later if you get my drift. Lol
