Hi everyone,

Just a question for you all. Do the last year style hard bed ends leak along the hinge onto the top of the tent when it is open? I would have thought that if you had weatherproof screens fitted, there would be no water getting onto the tent at all. With the new hard ends it leaks quite a bit through the piano hinge and onto the tent itself, so even if we put the weatherproof screens on it will still be wet on the tent???
I am trying to ascertain whether I can remedy this or if it is just bad design and I have to live with it.

Cheers

Shano

How is this 'Reseal' done? Is it a DIY? We have a 2014 model
I resealed along the hinge edges with sikaflex and it seemed to solve most of the problem, but I also found that when water was hitting the lid it was flowing back toward the hinge due to how far it opened up, so I moved the struts forward a little on the lid to give the lid a more forward sloping run off!

I think the problem is that it is a piano hinge, so it has small gaps all the way along. Really the wrong sort of hinge for this application. I spoke to Perth Caravan Repair Centre today who suggested a vinyl seal strip that slides into a sail track on the van body and the hard lid which will pretty much cure the problem. Simple fixes are sometimes the best!!

Just saw ours in the flesh today and as expected they've gone back to the old design. Might be reason enough to go back to dealer and ask them for a fix.

Hello JaycoQ.....nice van and ours is due in the next couple of weeks too. Are you getting a box done for the front. If so where? Liked the last one on the 17!!

Hi I'm hoping to add an off the shelf one, but will wait and see how we go for storage. We deleted the bottom bunk and optioned cabinets instead, with a BBQ door for external access. Once I install the washing machine I should have enough room for the canvas walls in the remaining lower shelf space. You can see the black door in the 2nd picture.
