Low Water Pressure

This has most likely already been covered somewherein the site but, i am having problems with water pressure in my 20.63-1 expnda. Pressure at the outside supply tap is great but internal pressure at the sinks , shower etc is almost unusable. Any suggestions or experiences?

@Melon2155,

Could be the pressure regulator/reducer that sits between the external supply and the internal piping. There are lots of reports of them being faulty. Don't think it sits in the path from the external water inlet to the external tap, hence the great pressure you get there, but low pressure inside the van.

Hope this helps.

Hi Melon. I have a new 20.63.1 as well - same issue. Thought it might be the BEST inline water filter but when I disconnect from the van - the pressure through the filter is fine. I will check the regulator/reducer to see if that is faulty. John

Thanks for the responses . I ended up replacing the pressure / flow regulator located in line as Rohan suggested . This was my initial thoughts as well , but just thought i would throw it out there and see if anybody else had issues . The new regulator improved the pressure , but it is still not as good as our older van ( Sterling 21 Outback) , but it is now at least usable. $45 from the local caravan shop at Eden. Thanks again . Just about to start research into the ball weights on the van in a seperate thread. Our ball weight loaded is 205kgs and the plate said max ball weight 186kgs, empty is 139kgs as stated on the plate. Got home unloaded the van and the ball weight is still over the max stated on the plate when 90% empty.

We had pressure problems with ours and had the regulator replaced by Jayco under warranty at first service, pressure much better afterwards.

G'day Melon. A max ball weight of 186 seems quite low for your size van. I had Jayco change my max ball weight and issue a new compliance plate because mine was low as well. I've got an 18.57-9. It originally had 218kg as the max ball weight. I asked them to issue a new compliance plate with 270kgs which they did without any fuss...to my surprise.
Might be worth talking to your dealer about it.

My water pressure regulator was replaced two on my first service on my 20.63-1OB @Melon2155

I just had a look on my compliance plate and mine is basically the same as yours.

Empty 159 and max 206 as soon as one of the water tanks are full I am over 206max

I too will be getting in contact with Jayco tomorrow @Paul75 and asking them to increases my max ball loading and issue a new compliance plate with a bit of luck.

@Paul75
I would be keen for those emails Paul if you still have them regarding changing the max ball weight on our compliance plate from Jayco.

Thanks

Hi Melon,

You could try removing the pressure regulator and put a joiner in to see if it's that and if so you can pull the pressure regulator apart and there is a spring inside, you pull the spring apart to give more tension on it and this sometimes works, I had to do it with our new Crusader as you couldn't even have a shower..
