ha ha i had the T shirt on also with another on top and a jumper and i dont feel the cold lol , but no excuses for sunday up early and into it needs to be done
BIG YES TO BIKE RACK its a folding jobby got it from anaconda $191.00 on special and the rego label is on a stainless plate cut out and bent to exacting tolerences
, ha ha and tucked under number plate, i may remove it to the new bumper the way i had it on my camper , might look a bit better ?? i know i will have to buy a rta bike rack number plate and mount it on the bike rack

Don't bother going to the RTA (now RMS) for a bike rack number plate for your expanda, can't be done in NSW. I went through this 12 months ago when i first got my van. I had a factory fitted bike rack on the back that covered the number plate on the van. Jayco told me to get a bike rack number plate, but they are not legal on caravans and trailers in NSW. From the research i did, they are available and legal in pretty much every other state. After a huge battle with Jayco they agreed to move the plate on van to a better position.
Sorry another hijack, just didn't want you wasting your time going to the registery.

I discovered the same thing with the bike rack number plate. I had one made at a sighns place, they used a composite material made of yellow plastic with Aluminium for the middle layer. They also did my numbers and letters in black and in small letters did NSW Bike Rack down the bottom like the real ones, I know it's not legal but I havn't been done yet. (yes i did touch wood) If I do ever get pulled over for it I'm hoping that they can see I've made more of an effort than a piece of cardboard! If they make them for cars don't know why they don't make them for vans/trailers.

I took this pic of the 14 hooked up and you can clearly see the folly of jayco mounting the hitch at the bottom. Even with the extra lenght drop shank the van still rides with its nose up slightly. Thinking of fitting a blade to the bottom so i can charge main roads for a bit of grader work

YES MR BOOTS33 what a jayco joke its a wonder you can tow at all does she hit when travelling on bad bouncy roads , it looks too low from the pic but may be an opticJust to get us back on topic

My 16.49 is the same, and inpossible to get the van to run level. I can't blame Jayco for that as they will supply the hitch either under or above the drawbar, depending upon the type of tow vehicle which will used. Does cause a lot of grief if bought second hand, or changing up to a real tow.
OK then maybe then jayco should ask the question about tow height and fit for purpose , i know other trailer builders that offer this service , just my 2 bobs worth
If thats right, they asked what I was towing my Expanda with but never mentioned to me anything about coupling location I thought though there wasn't an option on its location?

On a new van they should ask the question. Problem is a lot of new van buyers have no idea about hitch height etc. It's only after having a van that the questions start. I imagine most sales persons are only really interested in closing the deal.

I was going to do likewise, but there are so many factors to consider. Since we want to use our van on the beach I'm considering under slinging the axle, but then I have a problem of my new annexe not being the corect length. Seems everything is a damned trade off.
Mybetter half has a Patrol and fortuntely the ball height is identical to my Cruiser since we use both tows depending on where we are going and if anyone else is coming. To maintain the same height I may need polyairs under the patrol, but all else should be OK once I decide how many other things will have to be modified.
All good fun I guess. Fills in the days between trips

We had the same problem even though I measured My hitch height while Jayco were on the on the other end of the phone!Jayco said I needed a recessed hitch even though on pick up it was obvious I didn't.Acjimmy I ended up getting the plate welded on top of the chassis although it didn't interfere with the vin number on mine.
