It actually warms up quicker than that and you can run it on gas and power at the same time to speed things up if you have to.

Being only 20 litres (think 10 kettles) it's not that much water to heat to a comfortable shower temp which is a long way from boiling point.

I use gas when showering, mainly because you can here the gas turn off so you know its ready for the next person in line. Then I switch it off after the que is finished and leave it on 240, I don't switch the 240 off when I turn the gas on.
