We are a family of 6 with our eldest boy being 15 then 11 and 7 yr old boy and girl twins, we have just upgraded from a Jayco Outback Swan to a 16.49-4 and absolutely love it, the ease of set up and pack up compaired to the Swan is great. The van came with a few extras like hot water system, outside shower, wind up antenna, privacy screens, twin water tanks, battery kit, ext T V outlet, wind out awning, 2 gauge control panel for battery and water tank level, heron 2.2 air con, 150 l fridge, and many more accessories and Mods to come after reading this forum. Just want to say how great the forum has been already and look forward to many years of being a member.

Welcome Jason, good to have you join in, we have really enjoyed the forum and as caravanning novices we have learnt heaps. The new member to your family sounds great, with some great options. If you get time post some pics, we love em.
Bet it's been warm up your way the last couple weeks, we were in Charters Towers the week before Xmas and nearly killed us ..... :)

Jas

Ps make sure you vote in the "where are you from" poll, need to catch the nswelshmen :)

Welcome Chooky, another Queenslander. :welcome: Sounds like a great rig you have aquired, post up some pix when you can. You are in good company coming from the Swan as a lot of our members have come that way. Keep us posted on your travels.

Thanks for the welcome and yes the weather has been really hot up here, hope the rain comes soon. As far as the Van goes we absoluely love it compared to the Swan.

Hi Chooky,
we live in Mackay and have also just purchased a 16.49-3, upgrading from a Coromal Magnum Camper (similar to Swan)! We also love our new van, and have just got home this week from a road trip to Sydney and back over 5 weeks. It was brilliant, and I'm looking forward to many more trips to come. I have found this forum great as well! We'll have to organise a CQ chapter! Keeps us posted, Jeff

Welcome Chooky - nice expanda. I've upgraded from a tent... waiting for my new panda to arrive in March.

Sounds like NQ is getting a roll on - I live in Mackay and like Lake Elphinstone and Eungella Dam as they are close to home and great for the kids for free camping.

Thanks for all the welcome notes, and the Mods have started already with the clothes line out on the awning completed today and a full set of interior LED light ordered from Hong Kong. Will be fitting the second battery and rewiring the Anderson plug the dealer fitted with 6 b&s as the job done at the dealer I think is far from adequate. Will post picks of clothes line tomorrow and wiring Mods when done.

Also looks like we could have a good get together with the amount of members up this way, might have to try and organise a weekend somewhere in the near future.

Chooky, we have done Elphinstone a few times in our old camper trailer but not as yet in the Expanda. Looking forward to it though. We drove up the back way to Eungella Dam through Mt Britton the other day, not really the best road to take the Expanda on. Probably better of going the usual way, but we are keen to get up there for a few nights too. Looking at heading up there for Easter at this stage. There is also Cathu and Captains Crossing which we are wanting to check out also.

Hi Hubble we have also camped at the lake a few times but not yet in the Expanda and also done Eungella a couple of times and are also keen for a trip up there, not sure wots happening at Easter time but will let you know if we decide to go away for a few nights and head up to the dam. That will also mean another Mod like a stone guard to do before that trip.
