While on our Easter jaunt went up the local look out at Gundagai and spotted two vans camped by the river in the distance, so drove down to sus it out, sure enough it was a legal free camp with 72 hr max stay as per the sign post. It didn't show up on my Hema7 Nav but according to a local it's been in operation for almost 2 yrs.
Located just out of town on Pope Street at Lat S35.06717 Long E148.11794.
It's level grass area with easy access to the river
No facilities but less than 5 mins back into town and there's a Dump Point located at the old Gundagai Railway station.
There is also another free one in town just across the causeway on Homer St turn left off Homer St onto Ol Bell Drive (The road to Show Ground) and just on the left is a dirt track sign posted RV Parking.
