Hi-lift Jack & shovel holder

ditch it and the Jack
apart from 17 year olds in crummydoors, that thing and a 12guage are the next most dangerous thing to have

yes you can use it for pulling out of mud, pushing dented guards out, lifting 4wd's off the ground, breaking fingers caught in it, break jaw from leaning on it under load, dislocate wrist when trying to jack 4wd out of said mud

have a garage sale and flog it off mate

(I have 2 you can have for free if you want them................... bastard dangerous shyte things they are)

Whilst these pictures are not of my truck I wanted to give people an idea of what I am looking at doing with the truck
This is the fitting on the existing rails: (Note this is not my truck but a 150 unit off the interweb)

And this is how I plan to have it fitted;

weight difference:
80kg for fitting on the existing rails
100kg for full replacement

Height difference is less than 20cm

Cost difference is around $300 for the replacement as apposed to using the existing.

Visually I have to say I am leaning towards the replacement

But I have to admit I am still not entirely convinced which way to go......over to you Expanda Family!

great idea, it had 3 points of contact (bolted) as opposed to the two on the existing rails
be a heck of a lot stronger, more flexable with what you CAN put up there

good job mate

My 2c on the HID upgrade, For what it is worth. Little differant to others and is viewed from my personal experance.

I fitted the HID high beem upgrade in my last cruiser, would not do it again. At first i thought the light was great, untill you drive on a dark raod where you are always dipping off for oncoming traffic. They are off for long enought to not comeback on strong, and the light needs to warm up again to full strenght.

I found that in conditions where you need to dip often, they are a PITA. Once passing a car you are driving in the dark while waiting for the light to come good. Kind of defets the purpose of good light if it takes a while to come good.

IMO, stay with the factory, and fit HID / LED spotties. This way you have instsnt light on HB and then more light a few seconds latter if you choose HID.

As for Low beam, there was a guy on the LCOOL site that i got mine through from WA. Even he said don't bother. To much hassle and they are to bright. Only a matter of time till you get pulled over for them and you will get the s*%ts with people flicking you.

As i have recently completed a new build with lights, i went HID spotties with factory everything else. But i did get the DRL lighting with is awesome.

I know that this is a bit of an old part to the thread, but why not just HID inserts for the high beam with some spotties and leave the low beam? That's what I've been running for a while and love it.

All right $1300 later and the Rhino Rack is fitted have sold the 2.5m Oztrail awning to buy a new Ironman 2m awning as it has built in LED and will fit the awning perfectly (OK its a dark grey truck with black fittings.....I know what you are thinking...and you are right truck looks better with the colour coded awning bag.....don't hate me for my OCD).
Have to say very happy with the tray took @bigcol and @dagree advice and didn't get the high lift jack mount I am taking a deep breath before purchasing what I need for the pioneer.
OK this may be my 4th child.....

So purchased and fitted the new awning.......very happy fits to the tray and colour fits the theme (Wanker...you say...OK guilty....)

Side shows the fit of the 2m awning on the 1.928m pioneer platform. I ended up using the 3 legs supplied by Adventure king not the actual Rhino awning mount as it didn't fit with the larger and frankly better made bolts supplied by Adventure King.

I then realised I couldn't take back the Rhino awning mount......what to do......on to the next post....
