Interior front fold out bed...16.49.1

hi all
Me and the wife & 3 kids have bought our first caravan and found out its got a lovely leak from the front bed fold out seals. the last owner said he hadn't used it for about 10 months. so after spending today cleaning i found some old sealant that hadn't been sealing very well plus the rubber seals are weak and the front bed wooden floor is rotten. so my question is 'anyone had the privileged of replacing the wood'? looks easy enough to replace.

I remember eons ago, my F-in-Law changing the wood on his camper........
was like a Flamingo, but wasn't (I cannot even remember the name of it actually)

he made a new frame out of 25mm SHS

apart from heavy - it never bent
