I have my 150litre fridge set to 4, and never had an issue. I mostly run it off mains power.

I bought 2 of these, one for fridge one for freezer. They either suction cup on or clip over the shelf rails. Also has safe temp zone clearly marked.

Hi
i use one of these at work for checking fridges and it's great at what it does
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-Temp...cal_Test_Equipment&hash=item4d12ae1af2&_uhb=1

turn it on chuck in fridge and then connect to PC later to graph the temp over time.
you can configure it to take a reading over a various time scale and it will log for weeks if wanted.
it's surprising to see the temp changing in a fridge overnight or from different power sources
with us it's a essential aid as when can print out it's results and show to customer the problem has been fixed

How cool is that! Might invest in one of those :)

Stupid question: what is the colder setting? 1 or 10? The dealer told me to stick it on 5 and leave it there.. but it freezes stuff! I've hardly used mine yet so not real sure.

Well there ya go. Explains why everything is frozen then! I thought it may have had something to do with the fact that i leave it turned on AC at home too, all the time. Shes fully stocked with.. ahem, non perishables, ready for the road.

Don't forget to allow for the number of times it gets open and closed. Families that are constantly in and out of the fridge will need it set higher than those that only access it 3 or 4 times a day.
