Fold Up Boat Mounting?

Has any contemplated mounting a fold up boat on their Expanda? Do you know if it can be done on an Expanda's side walls?

For those who have not seen a fold up boat they are similar to a Tinny, it's made of plastic and fold up to the size of a surf board weighing about 30kg. They originated in the USA and take a small out board motor, and from what I read and what people tell me they are quite stable, Ideal for lakes and river fishing. I don't know about mounting it on the side of an Expanda, but surely making a thin metal box/sleeve down the centre of the underside of the frame to insert the fold-up boat would work a treat!

Then again, so would a roof rack on the car, or simply putting it inside the van - use the cases of beer to stop it moving about! :decision:

Has certainly sparked my interest - great for fishing trips, both with and without the van!

A little of topic, for those that like simple lake fishing and have room on their vehicle roof, look at The Hobie range of Kayaks using pedal power. I have two, they are great.

Prefer my metal umbrella!! I looked at all options at the time and considering my hull only ways 70kg and can handle a 18hp made for more options.

I bought mine second hand for approx. $1000.00 including racks to fit 100series. I than with u bolts mounted an old flyscreen door to the racks so I can store/tie down all my boat gear
while the boat is with me. Jackets x 6, floor,oars,rods etc. Hand winches on and off but so easy. Electric drive thru anderson plug available.
My fuel tank sits strapped down to the spare wheel on the a frame and the out bourd is mounted to the ext. A frame with the slip n easy, also 2nd hand.
So far it has done Menindee Lakes (maiden voyage) and Lake hume and Patonga.:fish2:

A bigger motor would be nice, I'll be looking for something around the 5hp mark mainly to keep weight down. I also like the idea that even if i carry one of these boats on the roof rack at 30kg I could manage it on my own and it wont add any more wind resistance. I've done some more research and their are other companies making these boats, some have fibreglass sides at about the same weight and dimensions but alot more ridgid. The other plus with this boat is that it can be stored along a wall of the garage and not take up any room. I need to see them in the flesh but I'm almost sold.
