We have been on an un-powered site for 8 days and using the gas to keep the Dometic 150lt fridge running.

The kids noticed that the white cover over the gas exhaust vent was yellowing significantly and when you touch it, it is too hot to keep fingers on it for more than a few seconds.

Is this normal for the exhaust vent to get this hot and the white plastic cover to yellow off?

Fridge was on setting 4 and was nice and cold, particularly the beers :)

Cheers,

Sounds like a problem with ventilation. The outlet should not be making the vent turn yellow. You may have to check the inlet vent and make sure it's clear. Caravan manufacturers sometimes forget to remove all the packaging around the fridge.

It's pretty normal, happens to some more than others for some reason ,same as the water heaters some will burn the exterior of the cover others wont

I looked at mine briefly and noticed the exhaust behind the vent was almost touching it. I wonder if it would have less effect on the vent cover it it was 10mm or so shorter?
