the diesel burns inside a fined chamber the air is then blown over this chamber heating it. The intake, exhaust and fuel line are all outside.

So don't they have a twin flue system like the Truma gas ones? In the gas ones combustion air is drawn in the larger outer pipe while the exhaust gasses run through the smaller inner pipe (a pipe within a pipe). That way the exhaust pipe is cooled by the in coming air.

It has two separate pipes, one exhaust and pipe for combustion air. Diesel is completely safe.

I'm going to install one of these soon, that way I can freecamp in the snow. It will pay for itself in two weeks.

If I direct the exhaust towards to water pipes that will stop them freezing up.

This is correct @BigSkiddy.

I have been running it during the day all day and have had no concerns at all so next week when we go on our maiden voyage I'll happily run during the night.
I will get some more photo's today of the completed setup and post later.

A couple more photo's of the install.
Small amount of tidy up work to be done underneath with the wires other than that it's in and running well.
Now for the spare wheel under the back of the van..
